The Royal College of Art’s annual graduate summer shows take place as four separate exhibitions this year and will include work by over 400 art and design postgraduate students. SHOW RCA is generously supported by The Conran Foundation.
Royal College of Art graduate shows offer visitors – some 40,000 of them came through the College’s doors last year – a unique opportunity to experience the very best of emerging contemporary art and design practice. All four exhibitions are free, with much of the work – ranging from paintings, prints, glassware, jewellery and furniture to textiles, high fashion and concept cars – for sale or commission.
Graduates will join a select roll call of RCA alumni that includes some of the world’s most acclaimed artists and designers, such as David Hockney, Barbara Hepworth, Ross Lovegrove, Philip Treacy, Tracey Emin, James Dyson, Ridley Scott and Peter Blake.
As Sir Christopher Frayling, Rector of the Royal College of Art said recently:
“Collecting an MA or PhD from the RCA means that along with the finest art education, graduates receive instant exposure to dealers, collectors and employers, with the Summer Show an eagerly awaited fixture on the international art and design calendar.” Come join us as we showcase the very best art and design graduates of 2009.
