Our Approach
We believe in championing fresh talent and helping photographers develop long-term careers. By working closely with photography colleges and festivals, we continue to discover new voices and bring their work to a wider audience.
At the same time, we maintain a focused, dedicated team committed to supporting the contemporary photography market. This balance of creative development and commercial expertise is central to how Millennium Images operates.
For Photographers
We offer a three-year contract for photographers who license us to sell reproduction rights to their images. Copyright remains with the photographer, and they may continue to exhibit or publish the work for their own books or self-promotion. While the work is with us you shouldn’t place any of the same pictures with another agency.
The split for sales is 50% to the photographer and is 50% to Millennium, if we were to generate you a commission we would split 75% to the photographer and 25% to Millennium. We pay on a three month basis, and will send you a statement for an invoice if payments are due. Amounts raised by sales depend on the reproduction rights required by clients. Model releases are the responsibility of the contributor and if they don’t exist we would need written confirmation.
Submissions
For initial submissions, we recommend sending around 20 to 30 pictures, with a maximum of 50 images.
Files should be low-resolution JPEGs, ideally no larger than 1MB, saved at 72dpi with the longest side at 1000 pixels.
If your work is shot using a digital camera please note the minimum standards which we might accept are images taken on a camera producing 12 mega pixels.
Submissions can be sent by email, post on CD or DVD, or through a file-transfer service such as WeTransfer. Please also include a CV or short biography with your images.
